Manipulate Visual Theatre Festival presentation
Young people taking part in the programmes offered by 16 - 24 Literacy Project based in Dundee will work together, guided by the expertise of a dedicated team of arts workers and practitioners, to create an animated film, with an integrated soundscape and live performance of poetry and text, highlighting the challenges they face in the city dealing with the problems and challenges created by dyslexia and related issues of prejudice and lack of self-confidence and belief
This piece of film and performance will examine vividly the participants' life experiences through the medium of their own spoken and recorded words, which, by their own work and commitment, will be transmuted into powerful abstract and literal images and sounds dramatising their own struggle to gain self-respect and the acceptance of others |
